Join us for the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Research Showcase! The showcase opens with rapid-fire Lightning Talks, where students and researchers will share their latest work in biostatistics, epidemiology, and related health research. Then, explore our Poster Session, featuring a variety of projects from across the biostatistics and epidemiology community.
Date: Friday, May 1, 2026
Time: 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM (Lightning Talks) | 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Poster Session)
Location: Berkeley Way West | Colloquia Room 1102 & 1104
Presentation Options
1. Lightning Talk (Only)
Each lightning talk will be a (3) three-minute timed talk (with two minutes of Q&A), and we encourage you to formulate your talk with the following parameters in mind:
- Discuss the objectives and significance of an ongoing or completed research project.
- Highlight key contributions or findings.
-
What contributions to statistical/epidemiological practice have been made?
-
How does your work advance knowledge, understanding, or practice in your field?
-
A maximum of 4 slides is permitted (roughly 1 minute per slide). Slides must be downloaded as PDFs and submitted the night before the lightning talk session (email instructions to follow).
2. Poster Presentation (Only)
A dedicated one-hour session will be reserved for poster presentations following the lighting talk (maximum poster size: 4’x6'). This is an excellent opportunity to dive deeper into your research, exchange ideas, and connect with others in the Biostatistics and Epidemiology community.
3. Present both a Lightning Talk and Poster Presentation. (If available.)
If interested in presenting please email Jessica Angell (jessica.angell@berkeley.edu) to sign up.
