Alexander Brandt

Bio/CV: 

Alexander Brandt is a PhD student in Physical Chemistry in the Berkeley College of Chemistry, and is also working towards his Designated Emphasis in Computational and Genomic Biology.  He graduated from the University of Chicago in 2012 with his B.S. in Chemistry and B.S. in Biochemistry.  After a year at the National Institute of Health working with the Undiagnosed Diseases Program on the development of novel clinical genomics protocols, he joined the lab of Prof. Daniel Rokhsar where he focuses on the de novo assembly of genomes and transcriptomes, disease gene discovery, and statistical bioinformatic methods.
