Jonas Knecht is a PhD student in Econometrics and Computational Precision Health (CPH) at UC Berkeley working with Prof. Jonathan Kolstad and Prof. Maya Petersen. Jonas is also a co-founder and CTO at Knit Health Technologies (knit.health) where he is building frontier AI models that capture real world clinical reasoning by leveraging tools from imitation learning, causal inference, and RL. His research is primarily focused on the intersection of deep-learning, causal reinforcement learning, as well as behavioral economics.
He earned his PhD in Biostatistics from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Wang's research involves method development with targeted maximum likelihood estimation in longitudinal mediation, computerized and higher order efficient estimation, electronic health record data analysis, as well as reproducibility and clinical trials with brain functional connectivity.
